Jason Boyd is a sophomore student at West Chester University studying Media and Culture. From Abington Pennsylvania, he attended Abington Senior High School where he played football and filmed for Abington sports teams. Growing up his father, Ed Boyd, made yearly videos of all the pictures that Jason and his sister, Shannon, were associated with. Whether this was youth sports, family vacations, or school events, Ed made sure to capture every moment to make videos for his children.

Jason always appreciated these videos and is now creating a career in the video-making world. In his free time Jason is a sports videographer working with West Chester University Athletics. He started his sports videography journey in 2021 due to his extensive love for the sports world and his appreciation for video making. When he wasn't playing sports, he wanted to be in a sports environment. He is now becoming the President for a new sports media club that is starting in the 2024 fall semester. This sports media club is going to bring new light to West Chester University sports. West Chester is a Division II athletic sports university that has had little amounts of video and photo exposure. Jason plans to change the dynamic of how sports are represented to students, fans, and those who are looking to attend West Chester University. This club, created by Jason, is going to change West Chester University Sports forever.

Jason uses the camera “Sony FX30” to capture his unique sports endeavors. While editing, he uses “Davinci Resolve” due to the softwares’ extensive color grading. He is currently working on his unique craft to prepare himself for a lifetime of video creation. In the future, Jason plans to become a professional sports videographer filming for the NFL, NBA, and/or MLB. He wants to show the world breathtaking visuals of the beauty in sports. His love for both video creation and sports is the driving force that is keeping his passion alive. Jason sees sports filmmaking as an art form that is often overlooked and for this reason, Jason is driven to show the world the elegance in professional sports.
